BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will open Saturday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m., five days ahead of schedule.
The grand opening is still planned for July 5th through 7th, with local Grammy-winning band 3 Doors Down, the opening act at Hard Rock Live on July 5th and Kid Rock rocking the stage July 7th.
The Hard Rock was days from opening when Hurricane Katrina hit in August 2005.
The music memorabilia that was recovered is displayed along with a collection of signed guitars, photographs and clothing from musical legends such as Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John and Waylon Jennings along with newer performers.

Not sure if they are talking about this Saturday or 7-7-07 saturday.. Anyone know??
“You might see yourself around the world tonight everybody. So raise your hands,” hollered the D.J. as hundreds of casino-resort employees gathered beneath the giant guitar in downtown Biloxi Thursday morning.
The anxious “Hard Rockers” finally got the word they’ve been anxiously waiting for.
“And we’re formally announcing right now, today, at this moment that the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will open Saturday morning at 10:00AM,” said president Joe Billhimer.
It’s almost more excitement than 1,500 Hard Rock employees can handle. The crowd’s enthusiasm even rubbed off on Biloxi’s mayor.
“Is this a great day or what?” said Mayor A.J. Holloway to the cheering crowd. “We’re going to get open this time.”
Weather should cooperate this time around, allowing the shiny new resort to welcome the public. A certain hurricane wiped away the grand opening two years ago.
“I always had an optimism to get this thing back together and get the coast back together. I think we’re just a small part of what’s going on on the coast and we’re thrilled to be a part of it,” said a smiling Billhimer.
Music fans appreciate Hard Rock for its vast collection of music memorabilia. And after collecting for nearly forty years, Hard Rock boasts one of the biggest and best collections in the world.
Authentic guitars, musicians clothing and other collectibles fill the cases.
“I just want to stress that everything is authentic. It’s been used. It’s been documented. And, or it’s been worn by the artist,” explained Dan Bernstein, the man who directs Hard Rock’s collecting.
Homegrown success, Three Doors Down, has a permanent display case at Hard Rock. A special guitar from London gets a limited showing.
“It’s my pleasure to give you the Eric Clapton,” said Bernstein, “First piece of memorabilia from the Hard Rock collection.”
Clapton’s Fender guitar will be there for 30 days. Hopefully, Hard Rock Biloxi will stick around much, much longer.

I was picking up a pack a cigarettes for my girlfriend last night, and I noticed in the back of the pack they had a little 07-07-07 insert. It isn’t just casinos and gamblers that are taking note of this amazing day. It is going to be crazy! Here is the pic

A little update on my trip for everyone. We thought we were comped at the Beau Rivage but something came up with a reservation problem, and when we figured out we had the wrong dates they were already booked. Pretty frustrating. We ended up calling all around and most places were book (even the Island View!), we ended up with a room for 3 nights at the New Palace. It should be a blast!
