Ebony Fashion Fair coming to Biloxi
Tickets are on sale now for the 49th annual Ebony Fashion Fair traveling show to be presented in Biloxi at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino Grand Ballroom at 8 p.m. March 7.
Keying on the theme that “it’s back in style to have style,” the program is titled “Stylishly Hot” and features elaborate and dramatic attire by such world-famous designers as Angelo Marani, Jean Louis Scherrer, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, Vivienne Westwood and Carolina Herrera.
Often compared to a Broadway production, the Ebony show is known for its high energy glamour, elegance and beauty.
Clothing will range from Marani’s flame-embellished trumpet gown and matching flame ombre fox cape, from which the show’s theme was taken, to Scherrer’s red plunging neckline jumpsuit worn with a plush fox swing coat dyed the same shade of red, to elaborate gowns by Westwood and Herrera.
Ebony Fashion Fair, since its inception in 1958, has donated nearly $54 million to charitable organizations, according to spokeswoman Staci Collins.
It is hosted here by Phi Beta Sigma fraternity and Zeta Phi Beta sorority with proceeds to benefit the Sigma/Zeta Educational Fund.
Tickets are $28 a person and available at the Beau Rivage box office, telephone 386-7111. For ticket information, contact Calvin Glover at 388-4038
